Church Cookie Cutter

Well I finally got a chance to try out my new custom cookie cutter. It worked PRETTY well. It does not have a sharp edge so I had to smooth out the sides of the cookies after I cut them. But it was a lot easier than cutting them all out by hand.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Here are a few St. Patty's Day cookies. I love the shamrocks, they are so easy to make. Just pull a toothpick through a dot and you get a heart, easy peasy! The bead border is hard but I need to keep practicing. My hand is a little shaky, I think it's genetic!

Custom Cookie Cutter

I just got my new custom cookie cutter in the mail yesterday. I ordered it on Etsy and I can't wait to try it out. It is the outline of a beautiful church in our town.

Parisian Macarons

After reading about how fickle Macarons are I decided I needed to try making a batch! I love the way they look in an array of pale colors. They are indeed a bit fickle! The first tray did not spread at all but the color really faded. The second tray was a much brighter purple but they spread out quite a bit while they were baking. I filled them with chocolate ganache. I think I needed to stir them up a bit more to get rid of the bumps on the top.

Here are the quilted cookies with detail added. It was so fun to make these although it requires a lot of drying time! It is supposed to warm up to 45 degrees tomorrow so there goes my decorating kick! One photo has my daughter trying to grab a cookie, little bugger...

Quilting on Cookies!

This is another new technique I learned. This is what happens when the thermometer barely reaches 10 degrees for a week straight! Agh I am ready for spring...anywho here are the quilted cookies before detail is added.
